Nathan Slegers is today’s guest on The Segilola Salami Show. Nathan shares with us why, as a Mechanical Engineering professor, he had to write a book about the link between Passover and Easter. I assure you, you need to click play now to listen to all that Nathan Slegers has to say.
About Nathan Slegers
Nathan Slegers (Ph.D.) has been an educator and scholar for almost two decades with 30 published technical papers. He is currently a Professor at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Nathan’s most recent book “Passover: The Story of Easter from the Beginning” rediscovers the meaning behind both Passover and Easter by investigating the stories and community behind both events.
Often when discussing religious themes people emphasize doctrines rather than reasons behind beliefs. Nathan Slegers takes a different approach and first looks at the stories and community traditions behind religious themes. Those stories help a broad audience learn about the purpose of those connected holidays and why some people consider them significant without needing to agree on any doctrine. For that reason, this book is relevant to people of all religions who want to know the history behind Passover and Easter. The approach outlined is also valuable for authors and readers of many genres who want to educate readers of diverse backgrounds through foundational stories.
