Storms don’t last forever, S! Hang in there!
Johanna’s advice is spot-on – instead of worrying on the things we can’t do, focus on the things we can do.
Ever heard of the pregnant deer story? It resonates deeply with me. Time and time again, I draw great inspiration from that very scenario whenever I feel that I am inundated with negativity and adversities around me. I think of myself as the pregnant deer with the happy ending. The allegory is so very symbolic of life. Negative thoughts are toxic. They can destroy your morale and oftentimes be overpowering enough to be incapacitating.

Praying helps too!

Thanks Veronica, I appreciate your comments. I had to go Google the pregnant deer story. I had actually read the story recently but didn’t realise it was that popular. I will definitely be hanging on to it.
That said, society today is very toxic compared to what it was 20 – 30 years ago. So it’s not just a case of toxic thoughts any more, it feels like the very fabric of human existence is filled with toxicity, so I guess the only way to cope is to find something positive, no matter how minute, to hang on to.
