Freelance Writers and Bloggers Wanted for Regular Work

As a parent, author, blogger, podcaster, I wear lots of hats. On my blog, I try to cover as much of the topics that match the different hats that I wear. Whilst I do consider myself to be Super Woman, I acknowledge that there’s only so much time in a day and only so much I can do by myself. That’s why I am now looking for committed and dedicated freelance writers and bloggers to join my team.

freelance writers and bloggers wanted, paid opportunity job

 What topics will be covered?

At the moment, I need content for the Children’s Corner category on my blog. I am open to topic suggestions as long as the content is one that parents and children can use. It could be arts and crafts activities, day out activities, literally anything you feel that parents and children under the age of 18 would find useful. This can include book reviews too!

Is this a paid opportunity?

Yes, it is, I will pay the freelance writers and bloggers for their time! However, please bear in mind that this is a personal blog. I run it because I love writing. So if you are considering applying for this role, you should be doing so mainly because you love writing and not because of the money.

That said, what I pay the freelance writers will be dependent on what they write. I want someone who writes topics that would be beneficial to children and parents alike and that parents (at the very least) would like to read such content. I need freelance writers who can carry out adequate background research to ensure that the articles they write will be beneficial to the target audience.

The only way I can verify that the articles written are beneficial to the end readers is from my Google Analytics report. At the end of every month, I will run a report to see how many visitors read an article that month. If the bounce rate per article is more than 90%, it indicates to me that there’s a great chance that bots are being used. At the moment, the bounce rate of my individual articles vary from 47% to 85% and the average time spent on my website as a whole is 1.5 minute. This is the benchmark that I will be using to analyse the performance of each article. I will share a screenshot with the freelance writers too.

The rate paid is GBP£5 per 1000 views as long as the bounce rate is less than 90% for each article. I will also analyse the traffic sources. At the moment, my top 3 blog visitor countries are the UK, the US and Nigeria. I don’t want to see a sudden boost in traffic from non-English speaking countries. I have nothing against them but my blog is in English, my books are in English and Yoruba, my podcast is in English. I would be very suspicious if I suddenly get 10,000 visitors from Russia.

When will payment be made?

My freelance writers and bloggers will get paid, give or take, on the 10th of every month for the previous month via PayPal. This is as long as the freelance writers send me an invoice on or before the last day of every month. For instance, if you send me an invoice on the 31st of January, you will get paid, give or take, around the 10th of February. I do say, give or take, as I am a parent myself and as any parent would tell you, life is unpredictable. I do ask for leeway until the 15th of the month, just in case.

Who are my ideal Freelance Writers and Bloggers?

I would prefer parents (aunts, uncles, grandparents etc) and/or anyone who loves children or works with children. I don’t believe you can guess what a child needs or likes if you don’t have anything to do with children in any capacity. If you are a parent, then you may have some idea of what a parent would like to read as it relates to your own child. Does that make sense?
