All hail Princess Peppa Pig, every parent’s ally
From the first minute I heard about Peppa Pig, I would be the first to admit that I never liked her. I think she’s a sassy so and so and my ears would be grateful if I never hear her voice again.
Saying that, I have come to realise that Peppa Pig, who I dub Princess Peppa Pig, is an extremely powerful figure where toddlers are concerned. She’s like their monarch! If Peppa Pig says jump, I can imagine all toddlers asking “how high?”
She (being Princess Peppa Pig) is so powerful, that if I need a few moments to myself to do something, all I need to do is play an episode of Peppa Pig on our Amazon Kindle on YouTube and voila! my little human just ignores me.
As a parent, I came to realise that it is only in my best interest to put my personal opinion of Peppa Pig aside and make her my ally. To be honest, that was one of the best decisions I made.
ASDA Little Angels First Pants
The other day, I connected with someone on Twitter who offered to send me a pack of ASDA Little Angels First Pants to review. I was totally surprised when it turned out to be a Peppa Pig one. I have never been a big fan of branded kids items, so didn’t even know that there were Peppa Pig branded items.
My little human and I have been trying the whole potty training business but we have not made much progress. My little human knows what a potty is and what it is used for but just doesn’t do anything with it.
I am still amazed at the power Princess Peppa Pig wields, as on the first day my little human used the Peppa Pig First Pants, she, on her own accord, dragged me to the bathroom, pointed to her Peppa Pig pink potty, took off the pants herself and sat on the potty. Nothing came out but it was progress. Considering that Peppa Pig likes telling George that she’s a big girl, I can imagine that the sudden desire to use the potty by my little human was her own way of saying she’s a big girl like Peppa Pig.
Sadly, we both had a cold, so we’ve had to put the potty training back for a couple of weeks. I think sometime next month would be a good time to try again.
So if you have a little human who loves Peppa Pig, then you should consider trying the ASDA Little Angels First Pants to see if that would help in your potty training efforts. As an added bonus, the pants can absorb liquid for up to twelve hours. There were some minor things that I didn’t particularly like but they were negligible.
